Finger painting fun

I don’t have kids yet, but I’m a kid at heart. Recently, a friend had a birthday party at Color Me Mine. Where has this place been all my life?! You choose an unpainted pottery piece (i.e. plate, bowl, mug, dog, penguin, etc.), paint it however you want with provided paint, leave it there for firing in their kiln, and pick up your masterpiece a few days later!

There’s a small fee to use the studio and the cost of your pottery depends on the piece that you choose, but most locations designate certain days/times as 50% off fees or fee free.

Touted as a fun rainy-day activity for kids, I don’t need to wait for stormy weather to go to Color Me Mine for hours of entertainment.

Hey! Are you talking about the place in Long Beach CA? I have not yet been there, and I live in Long Beach myself! I have heard many great things about Color Me Mine. My cousin was there a few years back and made a nice vase for his sister.

I’m near one in Tustin, CA, but it looks like there’s one in Long Beach, too (www.longbeach.colormemine.com). The website says your studio has kids day on Thursdays! And pajama night on Saturdays…haha. The last time I went, some parents were painting their baby’s feet for a footprint plate. Very cute.

Cool! I promised my little cousin I would take her and a few of her friends out for her birthday in March. Originally planned to take them to Chucky Cheese’s. Perhaps I’ll take them to to Color Me Mine instead. Thanks for the great idea!
